Continental
A storm characterized by cumulonimbus clouds, lightning and thunder, commonly with heavy rainfall, strong winds and sometimes hail.
Thunderstorms
Violent windstorm of rotating column of air called a vortex extending downward from a cumulonimbus cloud.
Tornado
A center of high air pressure and clear weather with winds blowing clockwise outward and downward.
Anticyclone
A center of low air pressure and stormy weather with winds blowing counterclockwise inward and upward.
Cyclone
A center of low air pressure and stormy weather that forms between 30degrees and 60degrees latitude.
Middle-Latitude Cyclone
A center of low air pressure and stormy weather that forms over warm ocean water between the equator and 30degrees latitude in the Atlantic Ocean and has winds stronger than 119 km/hr.
Hurricane
A center of low pressure and stormy weather that forms over warm ocean water between the equator and 30degrees latitude in the western Pacific Ocean and has winds stronger than 119 km/hr.
Typhoon
A center of low air pressure and stormy weather that forms over warm ocean water between the equator and 30degrees latitude.
Tropical Storm
Warm and dry air mass.
Continental Tropical
Warm and wet air mass.
Maritime Continental
Cold and Dry air mass.
Continental Polar
