Sea breeze
When the air over the land is warmer so it rises and the air over the see swoops in and fills its place making a breeze called a sea breeze
Coriolis effect
The rotation of the earth the causes objects in the northern hemisphere to deflect to the right while the objects in the Southern Hemisphere are deflecting to the left.
Doldrums
A spot near the equator where there are very little winds
Trade winds
Winds that blow towards the equator and brings cold air from the poles to the tropics
Polar easterlies
Winds found near the poles and move east to west
Prevailing westerlies
Winds that blow away from the equator that go over the U.S
Prevailing winds
Winds that blow away from the equator that brings warm air from the tropics to the poles
El Niño
Ocean current that brings warm weather that is located in South America
La Niña
Ocean current that brings cold weather and located in South America
Land breeze
When there is warm air over the sea and it rises so the cool air over the land swoops in causing a breeze called a land breeze
Polar easterlies
Winds that are found near the poles and move east to west
Gulf Stream
The Gulf Stream brings warm air to the poles
Convection current
When the warm air rises up when heated and then falls back down when it cools.
