Water cycle
The water cycle is the repeated movement of water in which the water changes forms
Evaporation
Evaporation is when liquid water changes into water vapor
Condensation
Condensation is when the water vapor turns into liquid water.
Precipitation
Precipitation is when the water in the clouds falls out of the sky in the form of: sleet, rain, hail, and snow.
Sublimation
Sublimation is when ice changes into water vapor without melting first.
Water vapor
Water vapor is when water evaporates and turns into water gas.
Runoff
Runoff is when water runs off the land into rivers, oceans, lakes, and streams
TRANSPIRATION
Transpiration is the process where plants absorb water through their roots and give off water vapor through their leaves.
Fog
Fog is an low altitude cloud at ground level that is misty
Cumulus
Cumulus is a cloud at mid altitude that looks like an small puffy white pillow.
Stratus
Stratus is a cloud at low altitude that looks like a big gray blanket.
Cirrus
Cirrus clouds are high altitude clouds that are thin and wispy
Vertical
Vertical clouds are big puffy clouds that are either low altitude or high altitude
Rain
They are melted ice crystals. The ice crystals melt when they fall and turn into rain
Hail
ice crystals that gradually clump together and form hail
