What is weather?
Weather is the condition of the air and atmosphere around us over a short period of time.
What does Weather include?
Its includes temperature, wind speed and direction, precipitation, cloud type and cloud cover, and visibility.
What is temperature and how can you measure it?
Temperature is the measure of how hot or cold it is. Thermometers are used to measure the temperature accurately.
What is precipitation and what are some forms?
Precipitation is water that falls to the ground in several forms. Four of these are rain, snow, sleet, and hail.
What is wind speed and how can you measure it?
Wind speed tells us how strong the wind is. The Beaufort scale is used to measure wind speed.
What is cloud types and what are some the most common types of clouds?
Clouds come in many shapes, sizes and heights. Cumulonimbus, Cumulus, Stratus, and Cirrus are the most common types of clouds.
What is wind direction and how can you measure it?
Wind direction is the direction from which the wind blows. It is shown by a wind vane.
What is cloud cover and how can you measure it?
This is the amount of sky covered by cloud. It is measured in eights.
What is visibility and how can you measure it?
Visibility is the distance that can be seen. It is measured in metres.
What is general weather?
General weather describes the weather in words like rain, snow, shower, fog, mist, thunder, cloudy, sunny, etc. Light or heavy can be added to precipitation.
