Drops from clouds, most common form of precipitation.
Rain
Forms when rain falls through a layer of freezing air.
Sleet
Forms when temps so low that water vapors change to a solid.
Snow
Balls or lumps of ice that fall from clouds.
Hail
Forms over North Pacific Ocean and is cold and wet.
Polar-Maritime Airmass
Forms over the Pacific is warm.
Tropical-Maritime Air mass
Very cold and dry.
Polar continental Air mass
In summer time it is dry and warm.
Tropical-Continental Air mass
Where cold dense air meets the warmer less dense air making the warm air rise.
Cold front
A storm characterized with lightning and thunder.
Thunderstorm
A sudden, powerful electric discharge typically during thunderstorms.
Lightning
Sound caused by lightning striking.
Thunder
A narrow, violent rotating column of air that extends from a thunderstorm to the ground.
Tornado
A rotating storm that forms over tropical waters.
Hurricane
Instrument used to measure how hot or cold something is.
