What was the most common weapon of war and why?
Rifle, was lightweight and could be effective long and close range
What was considered the deadliest weapon and why?
The machine gun, most statistics show it was the biggest cause of death
What were the two types of poison gas?
Mustard gas - rotted the body, coughed up lungs and intestines
Chlorine gas - suffocated the victim
What were grenades?
Grenades exploded with razor sharp fragments causing serious panic and injury
What were known as ‘tanks’?
Tanks were first known as ‘landships’ and were bulletproof however very slow, cleared anything in its path
What did artillery do?
Artillery were heavy shells which would be further behind the trenches trying to land bombs on the enemy trenches
How were flamethrowers effective in the war?
Were effective when attacking enemy trench, could go along a trench setting enemy on fire
What did aircraft do to advantage the trench?
Could locate where enemy trenches, spy on the trenches, later on were used to bomb places
