Marks the final stage of the war, where allies began to launch their series of counter-attacks

British + Australian forces captured city of Albert, British attack took Baupame, French attack took Noyon, collectively referred to as second battle of Somme.
8 August 1918?
Attack begins at Amiens, 8km after Germany retreated from British, Australian, Canadian and French forces, Germans lost 30000, allies lost 6500
What did Ludendorff refer to as ‘the black day of the German army’ ?

Battle of Hindenburg line?
Meuse-Argonne offensive involved 1.2 million US soldiers, 26000 lost their lives however forced Germans to retreat where they left behind much equipment but burnt down bridges and poisoned water wells to stop enemy advancement using them
Collapse of war?
Forced German leaders to accept the war should be ended
Success?
Yes, surprise attack at Amines demoralised German troops, poor morale in German army contributed, failure of Ludendorff Spring Offensive
