Population Vs Wealth
GNI often used as measure of development levels:
2014 - North America’s wealth accounted for 35% of world’s total wealth
- only got 5% of population
Africa as a continent holds about 1% of world’s wealth with 12% of population
High Income Countries
7 in every 10 deaths are amongst people over age of 70
Only one in every 100 deaths is among children under 15

Low Income Countries
The main cause of death in under 5s is complications at birth

Vaccination programs in more wealthy African countries
- rapid decline in deaths and reported cases of malaria
