Q

Economic

Trade

A

Most of world trade is with richer countries
- want to pay as little as possible for their raw materials so many come from LICs
Often more supply than demand for raw materials so keeps prices low
The processing, which is done in richer countries, adds more value to a product
Poor countries are unable to develop
LICs and NEEs used to export primary products such as minerals and agricultural products
Changed in the last 20 years to manufactured products
- now make up about 80% of exports of NEEs
