Weaknesses Flashcards
SKILLS OBSERVATIONS 1
Counter attack, too many touches
Team is on counter attack and he slows it down by doing unnecessary skills -> ends up being tackled
SKILLS OBSERVATIONS 2
Adv skills not enough - dri, ndf shooting, heading
Advanced skills not enough of them, if they were implemented, would massively improve performance
Dribbling -> range of turns e.g. Maradona and Cruyff turns
NDF shooting -> use of swerve / volleys
Heading -> both defending and attacking -> didn’t win many and sometimes didn’t even challenge
SKILLS OVR SUCCESS 1
Waste of GSO, increased pressure
Loss of possession and a waste of an attacking opportunity -> puts his team under increased pressure
SKILLS OVR SUCCESS 2
Limited performance
Limits skill set / performance that could be used in a game
SKILLS THEORY 1
Social inhibition
Potential of Social inhibition -> large crowd and live stream -> failure to perform skills that would be ‘easy’ in training
TACTICS OBSERVATIONS 1
In opp face after foul
Shoves opponent and gets in his face after being fouled -
TACTICS OBSERVATIONS 2
Too many touches -> loses ball
Too many touches / skills -> goes alone and loses the ball when his team has a 3v2 attacking overload
TACTICS OBSERVATIONS 3
Pointless 35 yard long shot
Pointless 35 yard long shot -> team was on counter and had multiple passing options
TACTICS OVR SUCCESS 1
RCO -> increased pressure
Maybe doesn’t understand this is a red card offence, another ref may have sent him off and put his team under increased pressure going down to 10 men for an unnecessary act
TACTICS OVR SUCCESS 2
Waste of good attacking chance
Waste of good attacking chance
TACTICS OVR SUCCESS 3
Poor decision making
Poor decision making
TACTICS THEORY 1
Aggressive cue hypo
Aggression -> aggressive cue hypothesis -> the foul was the cue for him to show aggression
TACTICS THEORY 2
Inverted U theory
Inverted U theory -> arousal peaked when goal went in -> drop in arousal meant loss of composure / concentration
TACTICS THEORY 3
Extrinsically motivated
Extrinsically motivated by the praise he would be received if the goal went in
FITNESS OBSERVATIONS 1
Slow reaction time
Opposition GK parries the ball into a dangerous area. Slow reaction time / lack of acceleration means defender gets there first
FITNESS OBSERVATIONS 2
Lack of pace
Slight lack of pace means defender tracks back and tackles him
FITNESS OBSERVATIONS 3
Coordination, power, reaction time, speed
Coordination, power, reaction time, speed
FITNESS OVR SUCCESS 1
High chance of scoring, DEF clears
Potentially a high chances of scoring -> defender gets there first and clears
FITNESS OVR SUCCESS 2
Loss of poss
Possession overturned, puts team under increased pressure
FITNESS OVR SUCCESS 3
Limits performance
Slight limitations in overall performance
FITNESS THEORY 1
Not in ZoOF -> nut aids eg. caffeine
Wasn’t in the zone of optimal functioning -> national aids e.g. caffeine could help improve reaction time
FITNESS THEORY 2
Low % FG musc fibres
Low % of fast glycolytic muscle fibres -> low speed of contraction, low force of contraction, low levels of explosive strength
