WC - Visitor Code of Conduct Flashcards
What is the purpose of the “Visitor Code of Conduct”?
To make sure The Westshire Centre provides a safe, friendly and enjoyable environment for everyone within the centre grounds.
What may happen if someone doesn’t abide by the code?
The Westshire Centre reserves the right to escort anyone found to not be abiding by this Code from the premises and to ban individuals from entering the centre in future. Where necessary, the police shall be called for assistance.
What must visitors not do? (points 1-5)

2) display notices or wear clothing that other people may find offensive
3) run, climb on or misuse escalators
4) sit on barriers, fences or railings
5) use lifts inappropriately
What must visitors not do? (points 6-10)

7) cycle in any areas other than on roads and parking places
8) smoke, except in designated areas outside the centre complex
9) use fire escapes, except in an emergency
10 use or leave shopping trolleys in non-designated areas
What must visitors not do? (points 11-14)

12) sell goods, carry out surveys or interviews, hand out leaflets or busk without our permission

What would you do if you saw someone with a dog?
Check visually whether it was an “assistance dog” and if not - advise them it is against our Visitor Code of Conduct and act accordingly.
“The Westshire Centre reserves the right to escort anyone found to not be abiding by this Code from the premises and to ban individuals from entering the centre in future. Where necessary, the police shall be called for assistance.”
What would you do if you saw someone drinking in the licenced bar within the food court?
Nothing. The Visitor Code of Conduct says alcohol is against the code “except within licensed premises”.
What would you do if you saw someone conducting a survey within the centre?
I would politely ask them to produce proof that they have the centre’s permission. If they did not have permission, they would be not abiding by the point below of the Visitor Conduct Code …
12) sell goods, carry out surveys or interviews, hand out leaflets or busk without our permission
I would therefore act accordingly.
