Point - One way US citizens participate in politics is the having the right to vote in elections
Explain - People in the US have many opportunities to vote for someone to be elected to a position of power in US society. There could be as many as 30 different roles US citizens are able to vote for such as a local sheriff or the state senator (opportunities, different roles)
Example - For example, 50% of voters voted for Donald Trump in the 2024 Presidential Election

Explain - As a democracy the US frequently sees large numbers of protesters on the streets as people express their opinion on matters that are important to them. In recent years there have been major protests about LGBT+ rights and about women’s access to abortion. The US has also seen many large demonstrations organised by the Black Lives Matters movement against structural racism in the USA (what is protest, recent protests)
