Q

What relation is shown by Snell’s Law?

A

When the refractive index of a medium which light is passing through changes, the angle relative to the normal that the light propagates at also changes.

if n2 > n1, then angle moves to be closer to the normal (decreases)

Q

How do you calculate the angle for total internal reflection to occur?

A

θ_c = sin^-1(n2/n1)

Q

What is the power equation for a thin lens?

A

P = 1/f = 1/d_0 + 1/d_i (in diopters/m^-1)
P is positive for converging lenses and negative for diverging lenses
