Q

What is doppler effect ?

A

o * Doppler effect – apparent change in frequency which occur when a source of waves is moving When the object is still, the wave fronts are evenly spaced and have the same frequency
o The direction it moves in ,the waves will be compressed
o Shorter wavelength and frequency

Q

What is refractive index and critical angle ?

A
  • Refractive index – different materials bend rays of light by different amounts
  • Critical angle – angle of incidence in the denser medium in which the angle of refraction is 90 degrees

Q

How do optical fibres work ?

A
  • The fibers are very narrow ,light entering the inner core always strikes at an angle greater than critical angle
