Longshore Drift
The movement of material along the shore by wave
action.
Occurs when waves approach thebeachat an angle.
Theswash(waves moving up thebeach) carries material up and along thebeach.
Thebackwash(waves moving back down thebeach) carries material back down thebeachat right angles.
This process slowly moves material along thebeachand provides a link betweenerosionanddeposition.

Formation of Waterfalls
Waterfalls are formed when soft rock erodes and falls into a plunge pool while the hard rock stays forming an overhang. Next, the waterfall goes back upstream and forms a gorge.
