Q

Difference between stationary and progressive wave

A

In stationary wave, there is no transfer of energy from one point to another point while there is a transfer of energy between points in a progressive wave.

Q

Differentiate Phase difference between waves and particles

A

Phase difference between particles shows much one particle lags or leads another wrt to a cycle while phase difference between waves shows how one waves lags or leads another. Phase difference/2pie = time lag/T

Q

Define Intensity of a wave

A

It is the rate at which energy is received per unit area perpendicular to the direction of propagation of the energy. intensity= power/cross-sectional area = P/4pier^2. ( I is inversely proportional to r^2 and I is directly proportional to Amplitude^2)
