What does Imbewu mean?
It is Zulu and Xhosa word for seed.
What does Imbewu aim to do?

- Provide a quality experience that restores self-identity and natural heritage links
- Promote an environmental consciousness
- Cultivate black role models
- Benefit rural communities and local townships within a 300km radius of national parks
What is done as part of the Imbewu project?
Youth leaders are taken on a 4-day bush experience. Imbewu also works with HIV and Aids community based organizations and HIV positive girls and boys have been taken on bush camps.

Stories, experience and enthusiasm with South African youth leaders to start up passion for African nature and culture.
What do the elders do?
Use their oral tradition and indigenous knowledge, lead walking trails and interpret the natural environment.
What can industries do to save water?
Industries can ensure that water is recycled and that waste products are disposed of correctly.
What can farmers do to save water?
Farmers need to use efficient irrigation systems so that water does not drain away or evaporate
