Water Cycle
Repeated movement of water through the environment in different forms.
Evaporation
Changing liquid water to water vapor (liquid-gas)
Condensation
Water vapor turns into a liquid, such as water droplets in a cloud (gas-liquid)
Precipitation
Water falls from clouds as snow, sleet, hail, or rain
Runoff
Water moving downhill
Accumulation
Water collects at the lowest point.
Sublimation
Ice changing to water vapor (gas) without melting
Frost
Water vapor (gas) freezes without turning into a liquid
Transpiration
When water is released by the pores, it turns into water vapor, then it evaporates.
Cirrus clouds
Thin, wispy,, white, high altitude clouds. It brings fair weather and it is made of ice crystals.
Vertical clouds
Brings thunderstorms. A.K.A. Thunderheads or cumulonimbus. Gets darker towards the bottom.
(Alto) Cumulous clouds
Mid-altitude clouds, looks dark on the bottom because little sunlight gets through. It is small and puffy
Stratus cloud
Low altitude cloud. It covers the sky. It is is layered and looks dark
Fog
A cloud that touches the ground
Rain
Water droplets that fall from clouds
