Water Cycle
the pattern of water moving on earth from the ocean to the sky, to a river, and back to the ocean.
Evaporation
the process where a substance warms and changes from a liquid to a gas (example: water to water vapor)
Condensation
The process where a gas cools and becomes a liquid (example: water vapor to water droplets)
Precipitation
Water in the atmosphere that falls to the earth as rain, snow, sleet, or hail.
Glacier
snow and ice gathered in one area over many years
Aquifer
large supplies of underground water
reservoir
a place to store water made by humans
Circulation
a swirling movement that moves ocean water around the globe
Tides
a pattern of rising and falling movement in the ocean caused by gravity
Salinity
the amount of salt in water
