Water Cycle
The path that the water takes as it evaporates from oceans, lakes and other sources, condenses, and falls to Earth as precipitation, and evaporates or flows back to the sea.
Evaporation
Evaporation is when water heats up and turns into water vapor.
Condensation
The forming of water vapor to clouds.
Precipitation
Water falling from clouds.
Sublimation
Ice changes into water without melting first.
Runoff
Water moving downhill.
Water vapor
When the sun heats a body of water it evaporates into water vapor; an invisible gas.
Transpiration
The condensing of a plant.
Fog
A cloud that forms at ground level.
Cumulus
A cloud that forms at mid altitude; brings fair weather.
Stratus
A cloud that looks like a gray blanket in the sky; brings light rain.
Cirrus
A cloud at high altitude; fair weather; thin and wispy.
Cumulonimbus
A cloud that often brings thunderstorms.
Rain
Water that falls from a cloud it starts frozen and then melts as it is falling.
Hail
Water in a cloud that once frozen wind blows it up and adds more water till it is to heavy.
