Nationalism
Belief that people who consider themselves a nation ought to have their own land/ govt. prominent during period of European imperialism, before the outbreak of ww1, and the period between the outbreak between ww2
League of Nations
Organization founded as a result of the Paris Peach Conference that ended the First World War. It was the first international organization with he mission of maintaining world peace. (1929) the onset of the ww2 shows that the league failed
Appeasement
The policy of avoiding further arguments or war by accepting the conditions or demands of an aggressor.
Reference to Great Britain and France not declaring war against Germany when it re-United several ethnic German regions, including Austria. In the 1930s
Fascism
An authorial and nationalistic right-wing system of government and social organization
A style of totalitarian government which emerged after ww1 in several European countries including Italy, Germany, Spain. It’s focus was nationalism and militarism -was anti-communist and often anti-Semitic (persecuted Jews)
Genocide
The deliberate killing of a large group of people, especially of the particular ethnic group or nation

United Nations
An intergovernmental organization established in October 24, 1945 to promote international co-operation. Replacement for the League of Nations. Created following ww2
193 members - including a security council which is governed by 5 permanent members that make up the victors of ww2 - Britain, France, Russia, China, and the U.S.
