Recall how to silence an aural overspeed warning.
Overspeed Warning system
• Push either Master WARNING/CAUTION reset switch
• Reduce the airspeed below Vmo / Mmo
Recall what conditions will activate the landing gear configuration warning.
Landing Configuration Warning system
• The airplane is in flight, any landing gear is not down and locked, and the flaps are in a landing position 25 or 30.
Note: The Master WARNING light and aural cannot be cancelled.
Or
• The airplane is in flight, any landing gear is not down and locked and either or both thrust lever(s) are moved to idle with the radio altitude below 800 feet.

Recall what conditions will activate the takeoff configuration warning
Takeoff Configuration Warning system
• Either thrust lever advanced to the takeoff range on the ground with:
- The parking brake set
- The stabilizer trim not in the green band
- The speedbrake lever not in the DOWN detent
- The flaps not in a takeoff position
Recall the stall warning system is functional during ___________________
all phases of flight.
Explain what the Pitch Limit Indicator (PLI) indicates.
• It indicates the pitch limit at which stick shaker activation will occur.
Identify where TCAS target symbology is displayed.
- On the TA / VSI if selected

Recall the indications of a Resolution Advisory (RA)
- Vertical guidance is displayed on the periphery of the TA/VSI
- An aural voice alert sounds
- TCAS RA symbology (red square) appears on the TA/VSI

Recall that GPWS provides aural alerts for potentially hazardous flight conditions involving imminent impact with the ground.
GPWS alerts the crew when any of the following occurs:
• Excessive descent rate: “SINK RATE”
• Excessive terrain closure rate: “TERRAIN”
• Altitude loss after takeoff or go-around: “DON’T SINK”
• Unsafe altitude while not in the landing configuration: “TOO LOW GEAR” or, “TOO LOW FLAPS,”
• Descent below glideslope: “GLIDELOPE,”
• Descent below Decision Height: “MINIMUMS.”
• An EGPWS “TERRAIN” WARNING (red) indicates 20-30 seconds from projected impact with terrain.
• An EGPWS “TERRAIN” CAUTION (amber) indicates 40-60 seconds from projected impact with terrain.
Recall when Predictive Windshear (PWS) CAUTION and WARNING alerts are available on takeoff or approach.
• The PWS mode is automatically enabled for takeoff when:
- The aircraft is on the ground and the thrust levers are set for takeoff
• The PWS mode is automatically enabled in flight when the aircraft is below 2300 feet AGL.
This is when the system becomes enabled, but the CAUTION and WARNING alerts are not available until the aircraft is below 1200 feet AGL
Recall when Windshear Immediate – Alerts are available.
• Enabled below 1500 feet Radio Altitude (RA)
Explain the meaning of the different colors displayed by the enhanced GPWS in the HSI terrain display.
- These are known as “look – ahead displays”
- Color and density vary based on terrain height versus airplane altitude
- Solid RED and AMBER represent terrain conflicts if flight continues toward the terrain.
Recall how to display terrain information on the HSI.
2 different options
- Select TERR on the EFIS control panel
- Verify the white TERR discrete light illuminates on the forward panel
- Available in EXP VOR, ILS and MAP, modes
- Select TERR on the EFIS control panel
- Verify TERR colored in CYAN is displayed on the HSI.
- Available in VOR, APP and MAP modes
Recall when the Master CAUTION, Master WARNING and associated aural warnings are inhibited
NOTE: The EICAS messages and indicator lights are not inhibited.
The Master CAUTION inhibit begins at 80 KIAS and continues until: 400 feet AGL
OR
20 seconds elapsed time following nose gear strut extension.
The Master WARNING inhibit begins at nose gear strut extension during rotation and continues until:
400 feet AGL
OR
20 seconds elapsed time following nose gear strut extension.
