What is the methods of the IRA?
Guerrila warfare . They used hit and run tactics where they attacked and raided RIC barracks
Flying columns?
They were set up by the ira as the numbers increased . There was around 30 people in each unit and they were well armed and lived on the run

Michael Collins organised a network of spies to gather information they were people who were cleaners secretaries etc. he formed “ the squad” or “twelve apostles” they were assassins who killed british spies and detectives , preventing the British getting info
British response who was behind it ? What did he do ?
David Lloyd George decided to take action , formed the “black and tans” (because of ric uniforn and army uniform) in spring 1920. Made up of ex soldiers . Extremly cruel. Later formed the auxiliaries even more ruthless, ex army military. British force 4times bigger at the end of 1920. They carried out terrible reprisals
Truce why Irish ?
They were running out of arms and ammunition and if they didn’t they would lose .

Aurthur Griffith and Michael Colin’s . Eamonn de Valera did not want go he said that was because he wanted to deal with groups like the IRA and so the delegation can bring info back to him. Colin’s accused him he didn’t want to be the barer of bad news. Dev told them not to sign anything
