The Dutch lost 56, but 40 were replenished. In comparison, the English lost 19 but 11 were replenished
Why didn’t the English win the second Dutch war?
Mainly due to internal factors, like the plague and the great fire of London (which caused the to lose at least 20,000 pounds worth of coal), in addition, many ships had to quarantine.
Also, James the Duke of York wasn’t commander at the time since Charles II feared for his life, but objectively, James the Duke of York was the better leader and the commander wasn’t
What was the goal of the third Dutch war?
(it was a joint force between the French and the English)
the French intended to gain land whereas the English wanted to break Dutch naval power
