-pnuemonic plague (communicable, effects the lungs)
-septicemic plague (non-communicable)
-bubonic plague (spread by a vector, namely fleas)
What are the four humours?
-blood

-black bile
-phlegm
What was the main problem with healthcare during this time?
Doctors in this time period had no knowledge of things like bacteria and germs, they believed infection and disease was caused by
-miasma (bad smelling air)
-imbalance in the four humours
What did doctors think of The Great Plague during this period?
They believed that The Great Plague was a punishment sent by God
What did the Government do to prevent the spread of the Plague?
They made ships quarantine for 40 days, in addition they also need a certificate of health
Even if one person was infected with the Plague then the whole house had to quarantine for 40 days
Celebrations were banned
Also the streets began being cleared more often, and this method was effective
What impact did this have on workers?
Many lost their jobs, but in result some earned more money

It became 30% higher than usual
