- Handles just level with wrist crease.
- Cuffs just below elbow

Walking aid sit-to-stand
A
- Crutches held on affected side, free of body.
- Affected leg extended out- presents pushing up on it.
- Push up using sound leg and hand on chair.
- Never use walking aid to push up.
- Zimmer frames: never let pt hold zimmer frame during sitting and standing transfers as they could fall. Instead one hand on arm of chair and one on seat pf chair.

Walking aid stand to sit
A
- Crutches held on affected side, free of body.
- Affected leg extended out- presents pushing up on it.
- Lower down using sound leg and hand on chair.
- Affected lag glides forwards (not trapped under chair).
- Never use walking aid to lower down.

Ascending stairs PWB

- Both crutches in one hand (T-formation)
- Hold onto rail
- Sound leg up
- Affected leg up
- Then crutch
- Practice with rail on same side as at home.

- Both crutches in one hand (T-formation)
- Hold onto rail
- Crutch down first
- Then affected leg
- Then sound leg.
