W5: IS, Operations and Business Transformation Flashcards
What is cloud computing
delivery of different services through the Internet, including data storage, servers, databases, networking, and software. Rather than keeping files on a proprietary hard drive or local storage device
what is analytics
algorithms for connecting data

Blockchain is a scalable decentralized digital ledger(record keeper) that records transactions across multiple computers in a way that is secure and transparent.
what is IoT
enabling phisical things to be digitally connected, monitored and controlled (sensors etc)
what are web 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0
1.0 internet - Online interaction
2.0 internet + social networking platforms/apps - user generated content
3.0 internet + cloud + blockchain - decentralised, scalable, computing power
4.0 - internet + AI - Intelligent web

what are the 7 parts of an IT infrastructure ecosystem
- data management and storage
- internet platforms
- computing hardware platforms
- operating systems platforms
- enterprise software applications
- networking/telecommunications
- consultants and system integrators
What are enterprise systems
- collect data from different parts of the organisation
- enable coordination, communication and some decentralisation of decisions through data

What are business processes - 4 points
- how work is organised, coordinated and focused to create valuable products
