What is the extended plurality voting method?
The extended plurality voting method is ranking the candidates with the most first-choice votes received
What is a majority?
A majority is more than half of the population vote or 51%
What is the majority criterion?
If there is a majority candidate in the election, then that candidate should be the winner
What are the steps for the instant runoff voting method?
Count the amount of first-choice votes for each candidates, if the candidate has the majority of first-choice votes, then the candidate is the winner. However, If a candidate does not have the majority first-choice votes, the candidate with the lowest amount of first-choice votes gets eliminated and the first-choice votes gets recounted to see if a candidate gets the majority of first-choice votes
What is the borda count method?
Each last-choice vote a candidate receives is worth 1 pt, the second to last-choice vote is worth 2 pts, Nth candidate receives the nth worth of pts, the candidate with the highest pts is declared the winner
What is the pairwise comparisons method?
Each pair of candidates go into a head to head competition, the winner of the competition receives 1 pt, if there is a tie both candidates get 1/2 a pt, the candidate with the highest total amounts of pts is the winner.
What is the I.I.A criterion?
If a non-winning candidate drops out of the election the previous winning candidate should still win the election.
