Q
  1. Why did some people oppose votes for women?
A

Some argued women lacked the expertise or mental capacity to offer a useful opinion about political issues. Also people thought women were emotional so this would affect their ability to make decisions and would let their feelings get in the way.

Q

How did the suffragists campaign differently to the suffragettes?

A

The suffragists use calm and nonviolent methods of campaigning such as petitions and speaking publicly and to the parliament. On the other hand the suffragists used violent methods like strapping with chains them selves to public place, burning houses on fire and if arrested refusing to eat in prison (hunger strike)

Q

what is a benefit of using the suffragist method instead of suffragettes?

A

By committing loads of crimes this just shows the government that women are not capable of communicating in a normal way but puts a violent and reckless look to women and the idea of letting them have roles makes them less likely.
