Net Height:
Women 7’4”
Men 8’0”
Teams:
6 players per team ( 3 players in the front row and 3 players in the back row).
Legal Contact:
- A touch of the ball by a player’s body in the above and including the waist does not allow the ball to visibly come to rest or involve prolonged contact with a player’s body. A player may use their foot.
Illegal Contact:
When a player touches the ball in a manner other than above mentioned type of contact. The official will signal an illegal contact as a “lift” or a “double hit”
Rally scoring:
Each game goes to 25 points, you must win by 2. The team that wins the rally wins the point
How many regal contacts does each team get to put the ball over the net?

How many times can same person hit ball over the net?
- they can’t hit it twice in a row unless it is a block. ( A block is the only type of contact that does not count as one of the 3 allowable contact)
What happens when the team wins the rally
They are awarded with a side-out which means that the team wins the serve back
Double hit:
When the ball hits off 1 part of the body onto another part of the body, it is illegal unless it is the result of a hard-driven ball(usually on a serve or spike)
Block:
When the player is close to the net, has both arms raised above the head and contacts the ball near the top of the net.
When is the ball considered in?
If the ball hits any part of any boundary line than it is considered in.
What happens during a side out?
- The six players rotate in a clockwise direction ( there should always be 3 in the front and 3 in the back)
- front row players are allowed to jump from anywhere on the court, back players may not jump in front of the 10 foot line.
What happens if the ceiling is less then 23 feet?
The ball may be played off the ceiling on the playing team’s side. If the ball hits the ceiling on the opponents side or on the way over the net the ball is dead.
Where can the serve touch?
The net but not the ceiling.
