atonement
becoming one with God again; making amends for present sins and the Original Sin of Adam and Eve
discrimination
This is unfair treatment of someone; for example not letting someone have a job because they look different or have different coloured skin
ecumenism
this is the breaking down of the barriers/division between the different denominations and faiths within Christianity as a whole
equality
this is when everyone should be treated the same
evangelism
this is the spreading of the word of Jesus; converting/getting people to become Christians
forgiveness
the act of excusing an offence/sin or mistake
gender
this refers to the classification of the sex of a person (male or female)
missionary
this is someone who goes to a different country to spread the Christian faith/get people to become Christians
prejudice
this is when someone pre-judges someone/makes their minds up about someone before they really get to know them
racism
the belief that race accounts for difference in human character or ability and that a particular race is superior to others; e.g. white people thinking they are better than black people but it is not always about skin colour
reconciliation
the re-establishing of good relations/feelings between two people who have been in conflict; a Christian hopes to be reconciled with God after they have confessed sins which have distanced them from God
repentance
saying sorry for a sin as well as showing true regret for the deed by never doing it again and trying to make up for it
sexism
the belief that one gender is better than the other and so unfair treatment occurs
