High fashion. Haute couture is the most stylish and influential way of designing clothes at a given time. (Haute couture also refers to articles of clothing currently considered of the highest style.)

Dense or difficult to fathom; resisting of scrutiny. Something that is hard to decipher could be called inscrutable.

Hermitlike. Someone who shuts himself off from the influences of the world could be considered reclusive.
