Dynamic character
A character who undergoes a lot of change
Exposition
Explanation of an idea or theory
Initial incident
The incident in a story is the plot point
- an event that hooks the reader
Falling action
The part of a literary plot that occurs after the climax has been resolved
Flat character
They are 2 dimensional in that they are relatively uncomplicated
Not complicated
Foil character
These are characters with contrasting personalities or trait
Ex. If one character is a hero the foil character might be the villain
Narrator
The person who recounts the events called a narrator stories can have reliable or no reliable narrator depending on the person
Ex. The narrator could be told by someone insane
Plot
The plot is the squence of enemy’s where each affacts the next
A series of events
Ex in the hunger games katniss takes prims place in the games that is one event
Protagonist
The main character
Ex. Alice in Alice in wonder land
Round character
A round character is the opposite of a flat character
They are complicated
Resolution
A firm decision to do or not to do something
A decision to fix something
Ex 2 friends fight over something but end up realizing that friendship is more important
Static character
A character who doesn’t undergo a lot of change
Ex a soldier who goes off to war is irrevocably changed as a result of experiences, but his wife remains static throughout the story
