Diabetes mellitus
Type 1: marked by lack of insulin due to the body’s inability to properly metabolize carbs , fats and proteins
Type 2: insulin is not adequately or appropriately secreted
Diabetes insipidus
Metabolic disorder of the pituitary gland due to deficiency of the antidiuretic hormone
Gestational diabetes
Occurs during pregnancy and displays the same symptoms as diabetes mellitus. Symptoms usually disappear following birth of the baby
