CVA
Damage to the blood vessels of the cerebrum leading to loss of blood supply to the brain
Encephalitis
Inflammation of the brain or spinal cord
Epilepsy
Abnormal electrical activity of the brain results in seizures.
Grand mal seizure there is loss of consciousness ,involuntary muscular contractions and incontinence
Petit mal sudden temporary loss of consciousness for a few seconds
Hydrocephalus
Abnormal increase of CSF in the brain causing the head circumference to increase. If untreated may cause mental retardation
Meningitis
Inflammation of the meninges ( membranes around the brain and spinal cord )
Spina bifida
Congenital defect where one or more of the vertebra don’t close normally and some of the spinal nerves and meninges are outside the spine
Alzheimer’s disease
Brian condition marked by deterioration of mental capacity
