Round character
Characters are true to life and have real personalities. They are typically the main characters. Usually change by the end of the story. Their actions/choices may surprise the reader. Audience has enough information to understand their motives and feelings.
Flat Character
Personalities not developed, Sometimes the sidekick, Usually minor characters, Don’t change much. Usually static. The audience doesn’t have enough information to understand their motives and feelings
Dynamic Character
They undergo inner changes by the end of the story. Changes could be: personality, maturity, attitude
Plot
The series of events that occur in a story. Involves characters and at least one conflict. Has a beginning, middle, and end with 5 distinct parts: Exposition, rising actions climax, falling actions, resolution
Static Character
Characters that do not change over the course of the story. They do not mature or experience inner growth
Exposition
Introduction
Introduces characters, setting, Sets up the story for the conflict
Rising Action
Conflict is introduced
Rising actions (events) complicate plot, Readers get engaged in the plot
Climax
Turning point in the story
The most intense, suspenseful, emotional point of the story
Falling Action
Actions that start wrapping the conflict up Reveals the results of the conflict
Resolution
Falling actions are concluded
The outcome of the story is revealed
