Delicatassen
Deli. A market selling a selection of fine, exotic, or foreign prepared foods
purse
- a sum of money given as a prize in a sporting contest, especially a boxing match.

dole (many definitions)
- sorrow; mourning.
- distribute shares of something.
“the scanty portions of food doled out to them” - a person’s lot or destiny.
“death be his dole who worst maintains the strife” - benefit paid by the government to the unemployed or the low income, ill-opportune.
“they are receiving the dole” - on the dole — registered as unemployed and receiving benefit from the government.

- situated in the middle.

- providing or consisting of less than is needed; meager.
