Plays an important role in growth and cell development. It also promotes healthy skin, hair, nails, gums, bones and teeth; prevents night blindess and lung cancer.
Vitamin A
Aids calcium absorption and builds and maintains strong bones and teeth.
Ex: Fortified milk, egg, butter
Vitamin D
Protects fatty acids; maintains muscles and red blood cells.
Ex: Eggs, vegetables, oils, margarine
Vitamin E
Proper blood clotting
Ex: Spinach, broccoli, liver
Vitamin K
Usually found in citrus foods.
Vitamin C
It is important for maintaining a healthy metabolism. It also helps maintain normal digestion, appetite and proper nerve function.

Essential for energy metabolism.
Ex: Cereals, grains
Riboflavin (B2)
It is used to metabolize energy and promote normal growth.
Niacin (B3)
Aid energy metabolism and normalizes blood sugar levels.
Pantothenic acid (B5)
Promotes protein metabolism, metabolism of carbohydrates and the release of energy. Synthesis of red blood cells.
Pyridoxine (B6)
Important in maintaining a healthy metabolism.
Biotin (B7)
Especially important for pregnant women. To make DNA, RNA, red blood cells, and synthesize certain amino acids.
Folate, folic acid (B9)
To make red blood cells, RNA, DNA and myelin nerve fibers.
Cobalamin (B12)
