What’s rhythm?
60-100 beats per minute
Pattern of pulses and intervals between. Normal is regular.
Classification of BP for adults
Normal: <120/80
Prehypertension: 120-139/80-89
Stage 1 hypertension: 140-159/90-99
Stage 2 hypertension: >=160/100
Selecting correct cuff size?
Width of the bladder covers 2/3 of the length of the upper arm or is 40% of arm circumference
Length encircles 80-100% of the arm in adults
SpO2?
95-100%
Factors affecting temp?
Age, exercise, hormone levels, circadian rhythms, environment, body temp alterations.
Older patients typically have a lower temp.
Temps lowest between 1-4am and highest around 4pm.
What are the ranges for pulse strength?
Normal is 2+
0: Absent
1: Diminished, barely palpable
2: Normal
3: Full or strong
4: Bounding
