In a control zone only, if approved by ATC (you cannot request it in any controlled airspace like a victor airway or something else. Control Zones only)
What are the requirements to be able to ask for Special VFR?
1) Radio
2) Visibility is not less than 1 mile
3) Visual contact with the ground at all times
4) Remain clear of cloud at all times
5) You get authoriztion from ATC
Depending on the class of the control zone you are entering, what must you get from ATC in order to enter the control zone under SVFR?
Either a clearance or permission
What is a pilot who is requesting SVFR essensially telling controllers?
The the conditions are so poor that keeping visual separation from other aircraft wont be possible

To fly VFR OTT, what rating/licenses do you need?
A VFR OTT rating or an IFR rating or a CPL
What are minima in order to go VFR OTT?
-Visibility 5 miles
-1000ft vertically from cloud
-If flying btween cloud layers then 5000ft vertical distance from cloud layers
-Authorized during the day only
What are the destination forcast weather rules for VFR OTT?
1) Sky condition cannot be BKN or OVC lower than 3000ft above crusing altitude
2) Must have a ground vis of 5 miles or greated
3) No precipitation, fog, thunderstorms, or blowing snow
If you are using a TAF for OTT planning, how long must the destination weather be good for?
1 hour before until 2 hours after your planned ETA
If the TAF is not availible and so you are using the GFA for OTT planning, how long must the destination weather be good for?
1 hour before until 3 hours after your planned ETA
