  • Decrease/Abnormal color perception (early stages)
    • Fading or yellowing of colors
  • Night vision difficulty
  • Sensitivity to light and glare

Pathophysiology of Glaucoma?

A
  • Aqueous production (inflow) and aqueous reabsorption (outflow) must be balanced to maintain IOP
  • Outflow occurs at angle where iris meets cornea
  • Inflow > outflow → increased IOP
  • Increased IOP → permanent loss of vision

A
  • Family history
  • Age > 60
  • Hypertension, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, hypothyroidism, myopia
  • Prolonged corticosteroid use
  • Severe myopia (near-sightedness)
