A
- Swelling
- Pain
- Erythema or edema
- Scant clear drainage

A
- 7 to 14 days
- Cleaning ear canal
- Moist heat
- Mild analgesia for pain control
- Topical (otic drops): anesthetics, antibiotics, and corticosteroids to treat infection & inflammation

A
A 2% acetic acid solution or 2% boric acid in ethyl alcohol is effective at drying out the ear canal and restoring its normal acidic environment.
