What is visible light?

Why is visible light used in optical fibres and what are they made out of?
Visible light is used in optical fibres made of glass to transmit information.
How does the visible light travel along the fibre?
The visible light travels along the fibre by reflecting off the inner surface of the fibre and is not refracted or transmitted through the fibre.
What is fibre optic technology now commonly used for?
internet connections
Why are visible light waves the best to use in fibre optic communications?
Best reflection/scattering in glass (others have too long/short wavelengths)
What are optical fibres?
Thin layers of glass that can carry data over long distances as pulses of visible light.
Why is the light not easily absorbed or scattered?
it travels along a fibre
