Q

What are the steps of the Lytic Cycle?

A
  1. Attachment- Virus attaches to bacteria
  2. Injection- Virus injects DNA into bacteria
  3. Mass production- Virus forces bacteria to produce virus proteins
  4. Assembly- Virus parts assemble in bacteria
  5. Lysis- Cell breaks open and lets out viruses

Q

What are the steps of the Lysogenic Cycle?

A
  1. Attachment- Virus attaches itself to bacteria
  2. Injection- Virus injects its DNA into bacteria
  3. Virus DNA becomes part of bacteria DNA and lies dormant
  4. As bacteria cell divides, virus DNA multiplies
  5. Mass Production- Virus forces bacteria to produce virus parts
  6. Cell lyses and mass invasion of virus begins
