Roseola
HHV6 or 7, erythematous papules and macules with white halos, infant-preschool, high fever 3 days then rash, mild URI sx. Complication - febrile seizure
Rubella (German Measles)
Pruritic pink macs and paps, head down over 24 hrs, petechiae on soft palate (Forsheimer’s), fever, HA, URI sx, conjunctivitis, lymphadenopathy, congenital rubella syndrome
Erythema Infectiosum
ParvoB19 virus, slapped cheeks, reticulate erythema on body, school age, low grade fever
Measles
Red macs and paps head down, Koplik spots in mouth, imported to U.S. Prodrome: fever, malaise, conjunctivitis, cough coryza. Infectious complications
Hand-Foot-Mouth
Cocksackie A16, A6, enterovirus 71, oval vesicles on palms, soles, buttocks, oral erosions, infant-preschool, fever, sore throat, respiratory and GI sx.
