  1. Fashionable in 90s due to Condrieu, relatively rare
  2. Mid 2000’s planted all over Languedoc + other worldwide wine regions
  3. Commonly blended w/Syrah copying C.Rotie
  4. C. Rotie Up to 20%, more likely 5% used as a Stabiliser
  5. Co-Fermentation w/Syrah in C. Rotie
  6. Ch Grillet 100% Viognier
    1. One of smallest wine appellations in FR 3.5ha
    2. Enclave within Condrieu
  7. Vines need Warm cliamte, prone to Powdery Mildew and Coulure.
  8. Deep Yellow Grape = High Colour + Hi Alcohol
  9. Stone fruit - Apricot + Peach, blossom, sometimes Savoury undertone
  10. Languedoc-R has highest plantings, Central Coast in USA, esp Virginia
  11. Good blending grape, esp with other Rhone whites - Marsanne, Roussanne, Grenache Blanc and Vermentino/Rolle
