- warm conditions throughout the year
- reduced yields
- wines of concentrated color, tannin and flavor
- great vintage for reds
Southern Rhône 2010 vintage:
Very successful vintage
- great expression of terroir
Southern Rhône 2009 vintage:
Impressive vintage overall
- hot and dry throughout August with decent rainfall
- plenty of wind to keep vines healthy
- sometimes over alcoholic
Southern Rhône 2001 vintage:
Praised vintage
- hot, dry summer
- Mistral was prolonged at the end of August
- harvest was a bit later, so some may have much lower acid
