Definition of Victim
A person who has suffered harm, including, physical, mental or emotional harm or economic loos which was directly caused by criminal offence
Repeat victimisations
Someone who has been a victim of the same crime multiple times such as domestic abuse
Who is a witness?
Someone who can give a first hand account of something seen , heard or experienced either before during or after incident
What is a victim code ?
Sets out the services and a minimum standards for these services that must be provided to victims of crime
Victim code how many principals?

- Right to crime recording without delay
- To be provided with information when reporting crime
- To be referred to services that support victims

- Make victim personal statement VPS

What VCOP does ?
VCOP consist of a number of questions that assist in assessing the need for enhenced rights
S51 of Criminal Justice & Public Order Act 1994
It is an offence to intimidate , threaten or cause harm to any person involved in the investigation of a criminal offence
What a Kay’s Law mean?
The police have a duty to take into account the victims view before releasing someone on bail
