A
Induce nystagmus by thermal stimulation of vestibular system.
Advantage
Each labyrinth can be tested separately.

Types of caloric test
A
Modified kobrak test
Head tilted 60° backwards (Horizontal canal in vertical, irritated with ice water, response seen with increased quantities of water, labyrinth is hypoactive, no response means dead labyrinth)
Fitzgerald-Hallpike Test (Bithermal Caloric Test)
(Head tilted 30° forward, ears irrigated with warm water, eyes observed for nystagmus, recorded on calorigram, no response labyrinth dead)
Cold air cause nystagmus in opposite side and warm on same side.
