Verbal & Reasoning Flashcards
1
Q
Range
A
= Subtracting the value of smallest magnitude from the value of greatest magnitude
The larger the range indicates a greater amount of dispersion amongst the data points, while a small range suggests data that are clumped toward a central value
2
Q
Inter-quartile range
A
= substracting the value of the first quartile from that of the third quartile
provides a summary of the amount of dispersion present in the middle half of the data
the values in a data set must be organized by magnitude and quartiles must be determined
quartiles divide a distribution into four equal parts
